My particular area of expertise is the intellectual and cultural study of mothers and motherhood over the last twenty years. This makes me a cultural herstorian, I am also: a woman, human, activist, artist, and educator.
I have a BFA from Denison University and a Master’s in Mother Studies, CUNY, The Graduate Center, NYC. I am the founding Director for the Museum of Motherhood, President and Founder; MaMaPaLooZa Inc. a company by Women, Promoting (M)others for social, cultural and economic benefit. Coordinator for the Annual Academic M.O.M. Conference; contributor to Encyclopedia of Motherhood and The 21 st Century Motherhood Movement.
Awards include the NOW-NYC Susan B. Anthony citation, Best in Girl Power Events, Westchester Magazine, NY, the Billboard Dance Charts, MTV Basement Tape Winner, and I hold the key to the city of Seneca Falls, NY for my work on behalf of women and girls.
I’ve been teaching courses in Mother Studies in New York City to high school, graduate and undergraduate students since 2011.
